PC Tight Supply Continued, and the Price Hit Highs
In Q4, 2017, offers for some grades of PC in China market hit historical high. The price gradually reached RMB 30,000/mt, up 20%-30% from Q1, 2017.

As is shown in the chart, China’s PC price first dropped in H1, 2017. In Q3, the price started to surge, due to the continuous tight supply and intensive overhauls. In November, offers for some high-end PC hit RMB 30,000/mt.

The PC price continued increasing tentatively, and most PC market players operated cautiously. Deals were tepid at high prices. Offers in the futures market climbed to USD 3,400-3,500/mt, and the price may continue increasing. SCI predicts the PC price may hover at high, and offers for low-end PC and tight grades may continue increasing.
