Shandong Independent Refineries’ Operating Rate Inched Up

According to SCI, the average operating rate of CDUs at Shandong independent refineries was 67.99% as of March 21, up 0.25% week-on-week. No newly added units’ maintenance or restarts were seen at Shandong independent refineries. Most refineries ran their units normally. Only a few refineries raised their operating rates slightly.

Dongying Yatong Petrochemical plans to restart its units on March 25, and Lijin Guangyuan Asphalt and China Overseas Energy Science and Technology plan to restart their units at the end of March. In the meantime, Wanda Tianhong Chemical plans to shut down its units at the end of March for maintenance. All in all, the average operating rate of CDUs at Shandong independent refineries will increase in March.

SCI updated the methodologies of the operating rate of Shandong independent refineries’ CDUs at the end of the third quarter of 2017. A total of 38 independent refineries are sampled in the methodologies. The CDU capacity at the 38 independent refineries is 139.6 million mt/a.
