Polybutadiene Output to Surge in September?
Some units which were shut down will restart in September. Will the HCBR supply surge? Will the support from the supply side be reduced?
18 producers are selected as samples, with the capacity of 1,432kt/a, including 7 in North China, 4 in East China, 2 in South China, 2 in Northeast China, 2 in Northwest China and 1 in Southwest China.
The HCBR output in August dropped from July.
The monthly output of HCBR was 50.1kt in August 2018. That was down 1.96% M-O-M and down 27.07% Y-O-Y. As for the state-owned producers, PetroChina Daqing Petrochemical shut down the two units early this month. PetroChina Dushanzi Petrochemical and YPC-GPRO (Nanjing) Rubber postponed the restart time to late August. Compared with other months, the output at the 3 producers was reduced by 20%. As for the private producers, the units at Hipro New Material Technology and Zhejiang Transfar Synthetic Materials remained shut. All in all, the total output of HCBR kept dropping.
The planned output for September inches up from August.
The planned output of HCBR is 67kt for September, up 17kt or 33.73% M-O-M. PetroChina Jinzhou Petrochemical shut down the unit at the end of August, and the shutdown will last for a week. PetroChina Daqing Petrochemical will restart the units. YPC-GPRO (Nanjing) Rubber has resumed production. Overall, the output may greatly climb.
