
Construction of CNPC Rudong Terminal Phase III Started
SCI heard that the construction of two new 0.2 mn cbm LNG tanks started in Yangkou Port, Jiangsu Province. This showed that the construction of CNPC Rudong Terminal Phase III started.
CNPC Rudong Terminal now has three 0.16 mn cbm LNG tanks and a 0.2 mn cbm LNG tank (it is the first 0.2 mn cbm LNG tank in China). Phase III includes two new 0.2 mn cbm LNG tanks which will start operation in 2020. At that time, the total tank volume in Rudong Terminal will increase from 0.68 mn cbm to 1.08 mn cbm.
Jiangsu Province is one of the biggest natural consumption regions in China. The accumulated LNG receiving volume at CNPC Rudong Terminal by the end of November 2018 reached 22.7 mn mt (270 ships), and 32 bcm gas was sent into the pipeline from here. From January to November 2018, Rudong Terminal received 5.75 mn mt LNG (75 ships), and 8.1 bcm gas was sent into the pipeline, which hit the historical high. As Rudong Terminal serves five provinces and city in East China, Phase III will not only ensure the gas supply in Jiangsu Province, but also perfect the energy mix in East China.
