16.1 Million Vehicles Sold in China from January to August

Latest data released by China Association of Automobile Manufacturers indicate that totally 16.1 million vehicles were sold in China from January to August 2019, down 11.0% from the same period last year. Therein, the sales volume of passenger vehicles was 13.32 million, down 12.3% Y-O-Y. The sales volume of new-energy vehicles was 0.793 million, up 32% Y-O-Y.

The sales and output of new-energy vehicles in August were 87,000 and 85,000, respectively, down 12.1% and 15.8% Y-O-Y, respectively. Totally 0.799 million and 0.793 million of new-energy vehicles were produced and sold in the first 8 months of 2019, up 31.6% and 32.0% Y-O-Y, respectively.
