CNPC Rudong to Resume Cargo Receiving from Nov 20
CNPC plans to resume the LNG receiving operation from this November 20, according to inside source at site. The terminal was hit by Typhoon Tapah in September 22, and its regasified output connection line was cut off from then on. The terminal gave great efforts to the overhaul, in order to catch up with the upcoming winter peak season starts from November 15. However, the progress is a little behind schedule which was set on November 15 originally.
As one of the busiest LNG receiving terminals in China, CNPC Rudong terminal is capable to receive over 10 cargoes per month, but without the regasified part, the consuming slowed down significantly only depending on the truck loading. The terminal inventory level peaked over 90% in late September and the output rate was far below average level. Even at the current high truck loading rate, the terminal still needs over 10 days to consume one cargo by truck delivery only. According to AIS monitoring, only one cargo arrived at the terminal on September 28, offloaded 74,000 mt, and no unloading was spotted in the whole October. In November, Rudong Terminal only received one cargo from Malaysia, offloaded 63,000 mt on November 6, and it is believed before its regasification facility restarts on November 20, no new cargo would be received, as the inventory level stays high.
