Hebei Province to Promote Ethanol Gasoline for Vehicles in Late 2019
In September 2017, 15 ministries and commissions jointly issued the implementation plan on expanding the biofuel ethanol production and promoting the use of ethanol gasoline for vehicles, which accelerated the promotion process of ethanol gasoline in China. It is reported that based on the promotion of ethanol gasoline in 6 cities in southern Hebei Province, the whole province will promote ethanol gasoline for vehicles at the end of this year. It has been 18 years since ethanol gasoline for vehicles was proposed. The provinces and cities that have promoted the use of ethanol gasoline for vehicles are shown in the table below:
In recent years, with the continually increasing car ownerships, the environmental issue became more and more serious in China. According to relevant experiments, after the vehicles use ethanol gasoline, the emission of hydrocarbon compounds can decrease significantly. As a result, the use of ethanol gasoline is promoted vigorously in China, and its environmental friendliness accords with the requirements of building a clean, low-carbon, safe and efficient modern energy system.
According to SCI, Hebei province will promote ethanol gasoline for vehicles at the end of 2019. In 2015, Shijiazhuang, Baoding, Xingtai, Handan, Cangzhou, Hengshui and other cities promoted ethanol gasoline for vehicles, which accumulated rich experience for the promotion in whole province this year. Additionally, the fuel ethanol will be jointly supplied by Henan Tianguan Group, COFCO Corporation (Anhui), Hebei Shougang Langze Co., Ltd. and SDIC Biotechnology Investment according to the promotion plan for ethanol gasoline in Hebei issued in May by ten departments, such as Hebei Development and Reform Commission and the Ministry of Public Security. Moreover, Hebei will be the second province after Tianjin to promote the use of ethanol gasoline. Promoting ethanol gasoline is a national strategic measure, which will alleviate the dilemma of oil shortage in China and reduce crude oil’s import independent degree. On the whole, the promotion of ethanol gasoline for vehicles will represent the general trend.
