CNOOC Tianjin Put Winter FSRU Online
According to CNOOC Tianjin Terminal, FSRU Höegh Esperanza has been put into the regasification process line from November 20. The floating storage and regasification unit returned the Tianjin LNG terminal’s berth on November 14 and received cargo from November 16.
CNOOC Tianjin Terminal was designed as FSRU terminal at first, but CNOOC expanded online facilities last October to double its receiving capacity to 4.5 Mtpa by one 160,000 cbm tank and onland regasification facility. Together with the FSRU in winter as a secondary unit, the terminal is capable to supply over 1 bcm natural gas into pipelines connecting to Tianjin and Beijing this winter. According to sources, the terminal planned 36 cargoes for this winter heating season with total volume at 2.34 million tons or 3.3 bcm.
Worth to mention that the terminal’s third phase construction to build six 220,000 cbm tanks has been submitted to DRC for approval, and this expansion is expected to break ground soon and put into use before 2022’s winter.
