Construction of World’s Largest Aromatics Complex Kicked Off

The construction of the 2.6 million mt/a aromatics complex unit at PetroChina-PDVSA Guangdong Petrochemical kicked off, following the opening ceremony on April 17 hosted by Mu Wanchun, general manager assistant and general manager of Guangdong Petrochemical Project Department.

Characterized by high intelligence and low energy consumption, its single 2.6 million mt/a aromatics complex unit is the world’s largest aromatics complex unit. It is the key sector the refining-chemical integration project of Guangdong Petrochemical with a total 65.4 billion RMB investment.

Apart from the aromatics complex unit, some big ethylene projects have made progress.
