Sinopec’s Wen-23 Reaches 1 bcm Working Gas
According to Sinopec, its largest natural gas underground storage facility Wen-23 has reached 6.16 total input, and the working gas storage reached 1 bcm. Sinopec plans to continue the input to store over 1.4 bcm of working gas for the 2020 winter heating season with output capacity at 13 mcm/d.
Wen-23 Phase I, commissioning on July 2019, is designed with 10.4 bcm total storage capacity, 3.27 bcm working capacity and 5.16 bcm redundant capacity, and the designed capacity of the whole project is set up to 10.4 bcm, the largest in eastern China. The facility is capable to provide considerable emergency peak-shaving capacity by the connection to Tianjin LNG Regas Pipeline, Yu-Ji Pipeline, E-An-Cang Pipeline and Sinopec’s Shandong piping network together with Sinopec’s two LNG terminals located in Tianjin and Shandong’s Qingdao.
