At present, China is the world's largest producer and consumer of plastic products, and plastic products are used everywhere in life. Recently, the street vending has attracted much attention in China. Due to the COVID-19’s impact on economic development, China issued policies to support the street vending. Many plastic products are cheap and light, and they are popular among peddlers. In the wholesale market, almost half of the goods are plastic products, and PE materials are often seen among them, including HDPE film, HDPE injection, HDPE blow molding, etc.
Therein, plastic toy is one of the most popular products. When adults take children walking down the street, many children just freeze as soon as they see the toys. Most of the plastic toys sold by the peddlers are cheap, and therefore, many parents are willing to buy these toys to coax their children. Meanwhile, there are also many daily necessities that are made from PE materials, and many of them are with good performance, such as trash cans, containers, lids, household utensils, etc.
Currently, due to the influence of the COVID-19, the exports of commodities weaken, and many industries suffer from oversupply. PE industry is no exception. However, street vending is a good method to cut the inventory at PE producers and relieve the oversupply of PE industry. It does not have high threshold for entrance, and many Chinese people are willing to participate in it. With the support from China’s policies, it is believed that the street vending will help PE industry to overcome this difficult period.
