Limited Output of Thailand Field Latex and High Feedstock Prices
Rubber tapping work is proceeding in China and other producing countries. The output of field latex is limited in Yunnan Province of China, with the rubber tapping rate there ranging between 50% and 60%. The high temperature has limited the field latex output in Hainan Province. China’s output of new field latex has not increased a lot. The largest natural rubber producing country, Thailand now has limited output of new field latex. Rainfall is intense and constant in South Thailand, while the rubber tapping rate is about 70%-80% in Northeast China. The insufficient supply of feedstock has pushed up the purchase prices.
Statistics show that field latex purchase price is about THB 65/kg in Thailand, almost the highest over recent years, and up more than 50% from the same period last year. The price spread between field latex and cup lump nears THB 20/kg, the largest after 2015.
