Malaysia April Natural Rubber Imports and Exports Increased from A Year Ago

Data from Department of Statistics Malaysia shows that Malaysia exported 55.7kt of natural rubber in April of this year, down 5.36% from March but up 37.2% from a year ago. Malaysia exported 217.3kt of natural rubber in the first four months of 2021, up 18.42% from a year ago. In April, Malaysia imported 112.5kt of natural rubber, up 3.63% from a month ago and up 47.28% from a year ago. It imported 463kt of natural rubber from January 2021 to April, up 3.42% from a year ago.
In April, the most important rubber species for Malaysia’s export were SMR20 and SMR10. To be specific, 94.2% of Malaysia’s total natural rubber exports were SMR20 and SMR10, while 72% were SMR20, up 2% from a month ago, and 22.2% were SMR10, down 2.4% from a month ago.
