East China 95% Ethanol Operating Rate to Inch up
In July, China’s edible and industrial ethanol operating rate slipped to 30.62%. As the air temperature goes down, some cassava-based ethanol producers in East China plan to resume operation in H2 August, and the corn-based ethanol operating rate may inch up in September.
In terms of plant status, three ethanol plants in East China will resume production from H2 August to mid-September, while ethanol plants in Northeast China will remain offline for maintenance till H1 September.

In H2 July, some cassava-based ethanol plants shut units down gradually affected by the hot weather. However, Zhenjiang Changxing Alcohol and Anhui Bi Lv Chun Biotechnology will resume operation from H2 August, and the plant in Wujiang will restart its units in September, pushing the daily output of ethanol in East China to grow by 750mt. Speaking of feedstock, affected by the public health event in Thailand and the rising freight, China’s domestic cassava-based ethanol enterprises saw higher feedstock cost.
