Aug China ABS Import Volume Increased by 12.03% M-O-M
In August 2021, China’s import volume of ABS was 148.9kt, up 12.03% M-O-M while down 19.14% Y-O-Y. The average import price was $2,249.01/mt. The total import volume in the first 8 months of 2021 decreased by 10.15% Y-O-Y.
In August 2021, China imported 66.0kt ABS from Taiwan Province, accounting for 44% of the total import volume and ranking first. That from South Korea ranked second at 43.8kt, taking up 30% of the total. The third was Malaysia of 14.0kt, accounting for 9% of the total. The top 5 of China’s ABS exporters (Taiwan Province, South Korea, Malaysia, Thailand and Japan) took up 92% of the total imported ABS.
In August 2021, 77.2kt ABS was imported by China via the general trade, taking up the largest proposition of 52% of the total. 59.4kt ABS was imported via processing trade with imported materials, ranking second and taking up 40% of the total. 5.7kt ABS was imported via logistics goods in areas under special customs supervision, taking up 4% of the total and ranking third. The top 3 trade modes accounted for 96% of the total.
