Thai Nov NR Export Increased Notably

According to the data newly released by the Thai customs, the Thai Nov NR export volume was 490.2kt (including NR latex and mixed rubber), up 8.47% M-O-M and up 25.92% Y-O-Y. The NR export volume in November kept increasing notably from October. The NR export volume hit a new high in 2017, which was also in a peak level in the past three years. The export volume of the main rubber varieties in November was basically flat from October, but the export volume of cup lump increased greatly. As the output of rubber feedstock dropped in Malaysia, Malaysia improved its import volume of standard rubber.

As for the export volume of rubber varieties, the export volume of NR latex was 113.7kt. Hereinto, the export volume of concentrate NR latex was 98.3kt, up 8.16% M-O-M and up 9.67% Y-O-Y. The export volume to China and to Malaysia was 46.7kt and 35.8kt respectively. The export volume of concentrate NR latex to the two countries took up 83.93% of the total.

The export volume of standard rubber was 123.9kt. Hereinto, the export volume of STR 20 was 117.1kt, up 15.27% M-O-M and down 14.60% Y-O-Y. The export volume to China was 85.6kt, up 25.70% from last month. The accumulative export volume of STR 20 in the first 11 months of 2017 was 1,270.6kt, down 291.5kt from last year.

The export volume of ribbed smoked sheet was 69.1kt. As the demand was stable, the export volume of ribbed smoked sheet in November was up 9kt M-O-M. The export volume of RSS 3 was 64.2kt, down 2.10% M-O-M and up 45.74% Y-O-Y. The export volume to China was 28.7kt, and the export volume to Japan was 10.1kt.

The export volume of mixed rubber was 126.7kt, down 6% M-O-M and up 90% Y-O-Y. Almost all the mixed rubber was exported to China, as China’s demand for mixed rubber rose greatly.

The demand for mixed rubber was stable-to-rising in China. Almost all the customized rubber varieties were exported to China. China is the No. 1 NR consuming country in the world, and its demand for mixed rubber may still increase greatly in the future. The weather was fine in December in Thailand, and it was in the high output season there. The rubber output increased notably. The big rubber feedstock processing plants had smooth production schedules, due to the favorable orders. SCI predicts that Thailand’s NR export volume in December is likely to be 450kt-500kt.
