2018 8th Batch Approved Waste Plastic Imports Reaches 18,207mt

On Mar 16, 2018, the 2018 8th Batch Approved Waste Plastic Import Details published that 14 waste plastic processing enterprises are approved to import waste plastics, with the total import volume of 18,207mt. This number takes up 40.7% of the total approved import volume in the first 8 batch of waste plastic import application. The number of approved enterprises and the approved import volume in this batch are the highest in 2018.

In 2018 8th Batch Waste Plastic Import Application Details:

• 11 enterprises are approved to import waste and scrap of ethylene polymers. The total import volume is 14,708mt.

• 2 enterprises are approved to import waste and scrap of PET (excluding waste PET bottle bricks). The total import volume is 642mt.

• 5 enterprises are approved to import other waste and scrap of plastics (excluding discarded CD). The total import volume is 1,381mt.

• One enterprises is approved to import Al compound packing film. The import volume is 1,476mt.

Appendix: 2018 8th Batch Approved Waste Plastic Import Details

Up to now, seven of the 8 batches of import documents issued by China Solid Waste and Chemical Center in 2018 include waste plastics. 

In 2018, totally 43 waste plastic processing enterprises are approved to import waste plastics. The total approved import volume is 44,758mt.

Although the 8th batch approved import volume is 18,207mt in 2018, it declines by 85% from 108,500mt in the same period of 2017.
