China PVC Downstream Product Exports Rose in Dec 2024
Preface: In December, PVC downstream product export orders rose MoM.
PVC floor covering: In 2024, the total export volume of PVC floor products was 4,735.9kt, up 2.90% YoY. The main export destinations were the U.S., Canada, Germany, Netherlands and Australia. Exports to the U.S. dropped by 25.47% YoY. In January, medium and large-sized flooring producers held operating rates high due to ample orders, and some of them halted production for holidays until January 27. SCI predicts that the export volume of PVC floor products may remain high in January.
PVC pipe: In 2024, the total export volume of PVC pipe was 156.9kt, up 12.58% YoY. The main export destinations were Hong Kong of China, the U.S., Myanmar, Thailand, and Laos. Pipe producers mainly halted production for holidays from January 10 to January 24 for 13-36 days, which is longer than in previous years.
PVC special-shaped profile: In 2024, the total export volume of PVC special-shaped profile was 129.1kt, up 4.79% YoY. The main export destinations were India, Guatemala, Thailand, the U.S., and Indonesia.
PVC plate, sheet, film, foil, and fillet: In 2024, the total export volume of PVC plate, sheet, film, foil, and fillet was 611.5kt, up 30.81% YoY. Vietnam, India, the U.S., and Russia were the main export destinations.
