
Beijing Gas Group to Build Own Terminal in Tianjin

According to sources, China’s top-gear city gas corporate, Beijing Gas Group, recently signed an investment agreement with Tianjin Government to build LNG receiving terminal and emergency storage project at Nangang Port, Tianjin City.
The new project comprised one LNG berth, ten 200,000 cbm storage tanks and a 300 km pipeline connecting Beijing grid. The designed storage capacity reached 1 bcm, and the regasification capacity reached 50 mcm/d. Beijing Gas Group has initiated the works for NDRC’s approval allegedly.
To remind, NDRC recently issued a circular, regulated that the gas operators (CNPC, CNOOC and Sinopec) shall retain the basic storage capacity over 10% of the contractual sales volume, the city gas companies shall retain over 5% of the annual sales volume, and local governments shall retain the emergency gas storage no less than 3-day average consumption volume of the administrative area.
