1,000kt/a PC Project at LUXI Group Started

On January 10, 2018, the State Council approved the Overall Plan for the Construction of Shandong New and Old Kinetic Energy Conversion Comprehensive Experimental Zone (2018 NO.1). After that, Shandong proposed a major project to fully develop the conversion of old and new kinetic energy and set specific goals.

On June 26, the SDDRC determined the first batch of 450 preferred projects in the major project library for the conversion of old and new kinetic energy, with the total investment of RMB 1.8 trillion. The preferred high-end chemical projects include 1,000kt/a PC project at LUXI Chemical, 400kt/a PC project at Wanhua Chemical, technological upgrade and matched new material projects at Yankuang Group (300kt/a caprolactam capacity and 260kt/a PC capacity) and 100kt/a PC project at Lihuayi Weiyuan Chemical.

Recently, LUXI chemical has announced that the 1,000kt/a PC project has started. It is expected that LUXI chemical may become the largest PC producer with its actual output within two or three years. According to the public information, this project was approved by the local environmental department at the end of 2018.

LUXI chemical announced that LUXI Group broke the international monopoly and developed the phosgene method with the independent intellectual property right. The annual 65kt/a PC production line of Phase I was successively put into operation. The PC products produced by LUXI Chemical replaced some imported PC products. The overall technology reached the international advanced level, becoming the first Chinese enterprise to master this technology.
