Guangdong Exported Fuel Ethanol to ASEAN with Zero Tariff
On November 15th, Xiahai Customs, which belongs to Zhanjiang Customs, issued the China-ASEAN certificate of origin for fuel ethanol of 3062.17 mt exported to Vietnam by a bio-energy company. This is the first time that fuel ethanol’s certificate of origin has been issued in Zhanjiang district, and it is also the first time that the fuel ethanol production enterprises in Guangdong province have exported to the international market.
Fuel ethanol is a clean energy produced from cassava and stale grain. It is learned that after the arrival of exported fuel ethanol, the certificate of origin must be delivered to Vietnam customs clearance on the day of declaration. Otherwise the company will not only face a demurrage fee of RMB 100,000 per day, but also lose the follow-up cooperation opportunities with Vietnam. As the company is not familiar with the origin certificate declaration process, and Vietnam has high requirements on the visa time limit, the company turns to Xiahai Customs for help. And the customs officers helped the company complete the product registration and the certificate of origin to guarantee to deliver the certificate to the port and finish the customs clearance in time. Xiahai Customs played a significant role in exporting the fuel ethanol.
