Qingdao Port Dispatched the First "End-to-End" Pulp Freight Train
On March 2, a set of freight trains carrying 35 pulp containers was dispatched from Dongjiakou logistics park directly to Sun Paper’s production base in Yanzhou, Shandong. It is the first time that Qingdao port has actualized the "end-to-end" pulp logistics.
Many enterprises have encountered difficulties in feedstock transportation since the outbreak, affecting subsequent production. Qingdao port seized the advantages from the national policies including the "one belt, one road”, "SCO Economic and trade demonstration zone" and "Shandong free trade pilot zone" , and grasped the opportunity of the integration reform and development in Shandong Port Group to accelerate the link-up of the "end to end" logistics corridor, promoting closer cooperation between the port and inland clients.
Under the support of Dongjiakou customs, China railway Jinan Group and other departments, the pulp logistics was extended to the doorsteps of clients, and the "last kilometer" of pulp transportation was linked. It will effectively alleviate the feedstock shortage of Sun Paper.
“If this batch of feedstock cannot arrive in time, it will certainly affect our subsequent production. We appreciate the railway logistics plan formulated by Qingdao port for us, and it conveniently meets our resumption demand. In the future, we will have 39 more containers transported via this route.” Says one of Sun Paper’s officials.
