BP to Supply Piped Gas to ENN via Dapeng Regas
According to BP’s statement on July 9, BP China and ENN inked a 2-year deal to supply piped natural gas to ENN’s city gas company in Guangdong’s Dongguan City, South China. The resource is from CNOOC Dapeng Terminal’s regas quota which BP China owns the right to use. The SPA covers two year started from Jan 2021 with 300,000 metric tons of LNG and regas each year, and ENN Dongguan Gas Company, the franchised city gas company of Dongguan City, boosted its portfolio greatly by around 50% as estimated.
Dongguan city government recently issued the blue sky campaign route map, requesting 84 coal-burning companies to finish the coal-to-gas switch within 2020, including 17 self-use power plants, 14 ceramic plants and other paper, building material plants. As the franchised city gas company, ENN Dongguan Gas Company is providing natural gas to over 1 million residential users and over 5,000 industrial and commercial users via four city gas hubs and over 2,000 kilometers of pipeline. Facing the foreseeable natural gas consumption surge, ENN is motivated to enrich its supply sources from piped gas supplies to terminal truck loading and regas.
