Major Refining-Chemical Integration Project Updates
Shenghong Petrochemical: Recently, the Development and Reform Commission of Jiangsu published Jiangsu’s 2021 major project list, and 8 petrochemical projects were covered, including Shenghong Petrochemical, Lianyungang Sinochem high-end fine chemical project, Lianyungang Weixing Petrochemical ethylene comprehensive utilization project, etc.
Shenghong Petrochemical includes 16 million mt/a oil refining capacity, 2.8 million mt/a aromatics capacity, 1.1 million mt/a ethylene capacity, etc., and it has 0.3 million mt-level crude oil terminal, 3.5 million cbm storage, etc. SCI learns that the project will be put into operation in Q4, 2021.
Zhejiang Petroleum & Chemical (Phase II): Zhejiang Petroleum & Chemical had put its 4 million mt/a reformer into operation on March 16, and planned to put its 1.4 million mt/a ethylene unit into production in end-March. There was no new progress for the aromatics extraction unit, and benzene goods are predicted to be available around end-May.
