Nov China MTBE Export Saw M-O-M Decline of 18.23%
According to GACC’s data, there was no MTBE import in November 2023, and China’s MTBE export volume totaled 196.6kt, down 1.19% M-O-M.

From January to November 2023, China’s MTBE import volume was zero, as the international MTBE prices remained relatively high. China’s LPG import arbitrage remained negative for a long time, so no importer purchased MTBE from the international market. Meanwhile, China’s MTBE export volume totaled 1,617kt from January to November 2023, up 24.14% Y-O-Y.

As for export trade partners, China’s mainly exported MTBE to Singapore, and the export volume of 95.7kt in November, taking up 48.69% of the total. Meanwhile, the volume of MTBE exported to Oman was 36.1kt, occupying 18.39%. Besides, China exported 32.6kt and 32.1kt of MTBE resources to Malaysia and the UAE, taking up 16.59% and 16.33% of the total respectively.

In terms of the registration place, the MTBE export volume of Shandong was 93.4kt, taking up 47.52% of the total. Meanwhile, the MTBE export volume of Jiangsu and Guangdong was 43.6kt and 32.7kt, taking up 22.19% and 16.66% of the total respectively. Besides, the MTBE export volume of Fujian took the fourth place, with the total export volume of 15.4kt and occupying 7.81%.

As for the MTBE export trade mode, China mainly exported MTBE via general trade in November 2023.
