China MTBE Export Registers a Y-O-Y Rise of 377.28%
According to GACC’s data, there was no MTBE import in March 2024, and China’s MTBE export volume totaled 370.2kt, up 168.03% M-O-M and up 377.28% Y-O-Y.
In March 2024, China’s MTBE import volume was zero, as the international MTBE prices remained relatively high. China’s LPG import arbitrage remained negative for a long time, so no importer purchased MTBE from the international market. From January to March 2024, China’s MTBE export volume totaled 724.2kt, up 124.84% Y-O-Y.
As for export trade partners, China’s mainly exported MTBE to Singapore, and the export volume of 200.3kt in March, taking up 54.13% of the total. Meanwhile, the volume of MTBE exported to the Netherlands was 73.5kt, occupying 19.85%. Besides, China exported 37.7kt of MTBE resources to Belgium, taking up 10.11% of the total.
In terms of the registration place, the MTBE export volume of Shandong was 172.1kt, taking up 46.51% of the total. Meanwhile, the MTBE export volume of Jiangsu and Liaoning was 85kt and 38.1kt, taking up 22.95% and 10.30% of the total respectively. Besides, the MTBE export volume of Heilongjiang took the fourth place, with the total export volume of 33.9kt and occupying 9.15%.
As for the MTBE export trade mode, China mainly exported MTBE via general trade and processing trade with imported materials in March 2024. Therein, the volume of MTBE exported via general trade was 351.6kt, taking up about 94.98% of the total MTBE export.
