Nine Dragons' 7,950kt/a Integrated Mega Project Is on the Way
On December 21, Nine Dragons Paper signed an integrated smart packaging paper project covering the whole industrial chain with the local government of Beihai. The project will have a total capacity of 7,950kt/a, and the construction will be completed in two phases. The phase I project consists of a 1,900kt/a of pulp line, a 2,000kt/a of high-end packaging paper line, a 1,200kt/a of environmentally friendly food-grade ivory board line, a 200kt/a bag paper line, a 50kt/a light-weight food packaging paper line and a 550kt/a convertible cultural paper and smart containerboard line. The phase II project plans to build another 2,000kt/a high-end packaging paper line and a 50kt/a light-weight food packaging paper line. The construction of the phase I project will start in late December this year.
It is heard that Nine Dragons’ Beihai Project will be located in Tieshan Port district, and this area has become a magnet for major pulp & paper projects. Aside from the established packaging paper project of Stora Enso, the 3,500kt/a integrated project of Sun Paper and Asia Symbol’s 3,000kt/a integrated packaging paper project also locate in Tieshan Port district.
