Hunan to Join PipeChina Grid
Recently, PipeChina and Hunan Provincial Government inked the Strategic Cooperation Agreement on Hunan Natural Gas Pipeline Network Structural Reform, in the presence of Guangdong Provincial Vice-governor Chen Fei and general manager of PipeChina Hou Qijun. This is the fourth affirmative confirmation of provincial natural gas grids to join PipeChina and will exert great propulsion to the development of Hunan’s gas utilization progress.
It is heard that Hunan provincial natural gas pipeline network contains over 2,000 kilometers of pipelines with 86% of city-level coverage rate and 60% of county-level coverage rate. Hunan provincial natural gas pipeline network will eliminate the bottleneck of resource delivery, reduce the intermediate gas supply link, and ensure the safe and stable supply of natural gas, which is of great significance for promoting the economic and social development of Hunan Province, further implementing the new strategy of energy security and the reform of the operation mechanism of oil and gas pipeline network, and constructing the “X+1+X” oil and gas market system.
