China PE Output Increased in May
According to the statistics of SCI, the output of PE was 1,794.1kt in May, up 41.5kt or 2.37% from last month. The capacity involved in the maintenance was 6,195kt/a in May, and the output loss was 236kt, down 8.5kt from last month.
According to statistics from SCI, China’s PE output in May was 1,794.1kt, an increase of 146.7kt or 8.9% from the same period last year. In May, some producers were still in the concentrated maintenance period, but the output loss reduced slightly from last month. Besides, the production time also extended, which lifted the output of PE. Therein, the output of LDPE increased by 4% from last month and 7% from last year. The output of LLDPE rose by 3% from last month and 17% from last year. The output of HDPE increased by 2% from last month and 3% from last year. From the perspective of operating rate, the monthly average operating rate was about 82.94% in May, which was slightly lower than that in April.
