Port Inventory to Build up with East China Methanol Transportation Curbed
Recently, with the prevention and control measures for the public health event escalating, the transportation in some medium and high-risk regions has been curbed. The influence on the methanol industry which has a large trading volume and high dependence on transportation by land and water also gradually emerged. Here SCI will make a brief analysis.
In most regions of Jiangsu, the automobile transportation efficiency declined, especially in Nanjing and Yangzhou. Nanjing is one of the major methanol consumption regions in East China, and local methanol consumption volume takes up about 30% of the total demand in East China. According to SCI, the feedstock inventory at a few downstream plants dropped gradually due to the restriction on logistics and the reduction in the arrival volume of imported cargoes. However, some local downstream units are under maintenance, so local supply and demand are predicted to be relatively balanced in the near term.
