Sinopec Zhongke (Guangdong) Refinery Exported 2kt of Butadiene
According to China’s media, on July 28, Sinopec Zhongke (Guangdong) Refinery exported 2kt of butadiene to Taiwan Province, which was the first time that Sinopec Zhongke (Guangdong) Refinery exported liquid chemical products via general trade. It provided a strong basis for expanding the overseas chemical market and increasing the processing volume.
SCI analysis: According to SCI’s tracking, in end-July, the 200kt/a butadiene unit at Zhejiang Petroleum & Chemical Phase II has been put into the feedstock. The cracker at Gulei Petrochemical has come on stream, and it is estimated that its 130kt/a butadiene unit will be put into operation in mid-to-late August. Shandong Shouguang Luqing Petrochemical also plans to put its 140kt/a butadiene unit into production soon. China’s butadiene supply will head up in tandem with the release of newly added butadiene units. The butadiene export of Sinopec Zhongke (Guangdong) Refinery means that China’s butadiene export channels are further widened, which brings more choices for China’s butadiene consumption.
