James Lavelle
“Throwing hip-hop, rock, dance and movie music into a zero gravity blender.”
For the past 30 years, James Lavelle has been at the forefront of global club culture. A polymath known as much for his eclectic DJ sets as his production work with UNKLE, Lavelle has been lauded as a highly influential tastemaker and musical curator.
With UNKLE, Lavelle has won the MPG Award for remixer of the year four times in the past seven years and has reworked tracks for artists as diverse as Beck, London Grammar, Radiohead, and Wu-Tang Clan.
With plans for shows and tours shelved, the pandemic ushered in a new era for UNKLE. The result was Rōnin, a two-part mixtape series consisting of remixes and brand-new mixes, created in isolation. Its first chapter functioned as a club DJ set of sorts, while the second functioned as the “post-club” follow-up.
“With its sci-fi artwork and intergalactic bent, James Lavelle's UNKLE project has always hinted at a nebulous future realm.”

Steven Weston
Steven Weston is also a collaborator with James Lavelle in UNKLE. They have worked together since Lavelle’s Meltdown in 2014, working on albums, soundtracks, remixes and the E live show which they perform together.
As a Grammy nominated engineer, producer and songwriter Steven has engineered for the likes of Rudimental and Chronixx as well as having toured the world playing keyboards for the likes of Ladyhawke, Charli XCX and Mikky Ekko. His label Blank Dust is borne out of a love of electronic music and the hours he's put in over the years collaborating with other artists.
He has received support from John Digweed, Jody Wisternoff, Qrion, Lane 8, Yotto, Hernan Cattaneo and CamelPhat, as well as capturing the attention of Sasha, who signed Steven's track Liquid for his record label, Last Night On Earth.
