Part.01 Overview 概述

The Master of Interpreting and Translation provides suitably-qualified graduates with training in interpreting and translation. Use your language skills to open the world and move into a global career.On completion of this program you will be eligible for certification by the National Accreditation Authority for Translators and Interpreters (NAATI)。

翻译硕士课程旨在为具备相应背景的毕业生提供口译与笔译专业的训练。助力其以语言技能开启全球化的职业路径。完成该项目后，学生将有资格申请澳大利亚全国笔译和口译评审局（NAATI）的认证。

The Master of Arts Translation and Interpreting Studies is also available as an exit award for students who are unable to pass LANG 7030 Preparation for NAATI Certification (PG) and who undertake an additional PG subject instead. The Graduate Certificate in Interpreting and Translation, the Graduate Diploma in Interpreting Studies, and the Graduate Diploma in Translation Studies are available as early exit points from this course. Subject to demand, the following languages are available: Arabic, Japanese, Mandarin, Korean, Vietnamese and Spanish.

翻译硕士课程旨在为具备相应背景的毕业生提供口译与笔译专业的训练。助力其以语言技能开启全球化的职业路径。完成该项目后，学生将有资格申请澳大利亚全国笔译和口译评审局（NAATI）的相关认证，认证级别为“认证笔译员和口译员”。未能通过 LANG 7030 Preparation for NAATI Certification (PG)（NAATI 认证备考课程）的学生，可通过修读另一门研究生课程（PG），转而获得翻译与口译研究文学硕士学位。该课程项目设置多个提前退出选项（early exit points），学生在完成相应课程后可申请获得口译与笔译研究生证书、口译研究研究生文凭和翻译研究研究生文凭。根据学生需求，本项目提供以下语种方向：阿拉伯语、日语、中文（普通话）、韩语、越南语和西班牙语。

Part.02 Learning Outcomes 学习成果

Upon completion of this program, graduates will be able to:

1. Integrate theoretical and empirical knowledge in interpreting and translation with a special attention to areas such as legal and medical interpreting and community and specialised translation.

2. Recall, articulate, and communicate advanced knowledge of research principles, designs, methods, and analysis strategies applicable to research in translation and interpreting studies

2. 回顾、阐述和传达适用于笔译与口译研究的研究原则、研究设计、研究方法和分析策略等方面的高级知识。

3. Exercise judgement and critical, reflective, creative, technical, and basic professional skills to solve translation and interpreting-related problems in straightforward contexts using cultural, ethical, professional and evidence-based perspectives.

3. 在相对明确的语境中，运用判断力、批判性、反思性、创造性、技术与基础专业技能，从文化、道德、专业和循证的角度，解决口笔译相关问题。

4. Critically evaluate the knowledge derived from published research in translation and interpreting studies, and use appropriate judgement in the interpretation and application of that research to professional practice.

5. Gather, synthesise and evaluate interpreting and translation studies literature and other relevant information from a range of sources making critical decisions about the reliability of such information.

6. Critically evaluate and communicate advanced principles, ideas, and research findings in translation and interpreting studies clearly and concisely in varied contexts to a range of audiences, for a range of purposes and using a range of modes/media/formats.

6. 在各种情境中，以清晰、简明且适合不同受众的方式，传达口笔译领域的高级原理、理念和研究成果，且能运用多种媒介、形式与传播方式进行表达。

7. Exercise judgement and critical, reflective, creative, technical, and basic professional skills to make informed decisions when facing new challenges while on an interpreting and/or translation assignment.

7. 在口译或笔译任务中应对新挑战时，运用判断力、批判性、反思性、创造性、技术与基础专业技能作出合理决策。

8. Monitor performance based on self –reflection and feedback from others to identify creative ways of dealing with unexpected challenges while on a translation and/or interpreting assignment.

8. 基于自我反思及外部反馈监测个人表现，并探索创造性的方式处理口笔译任务中的突发问题。

Part.03

Professional Accreditation

专业资格认证

This program is an Endorsed Qualification for the National Accreditation Authority for Translators and Interpreters (NAATI) at the Certified Interpreter and Translator level (formerly Level 3). Students who wish to sit for NAATI Certification must pass the subject LANG 7030. Students who are unable to pass this subject will be able to graduate with the Master of Arts in Translation and Interpreting Studies as an alternative exit, provided they pass an alternative subject of 10 credit points.

要学生通过一个替代课程的学习获得10学分。该项目课程是NAATI认可的资格证书课程，达到认证口笔译员级别（原三级）。希望参加NAATI认证考试的学生必须通过 LANG 7030 语言课程考试。未通过该课程考试的学生，如顺利完成另一门 10 学分课程，可改以“翻译与口译研究文学硕士学位”毕业。
