Critical Role of Hong Kong in Shipping Industry
With the establishment of IOMed in Hong Kong, the entry into force of Hong Kong Convention and the adoption of IMO’s Net-Zero Framework, this session will focus on Hong Kong’s role in maritime arbitration, mediation, carbon markets, policies and regulations innovation, digital compliance. Additionally, it will also examine the development of green maritime fuel supply chain and trade - particularly the development of green maritime fuel bunkering and trading centre in Hong Kong.

The IMO's Net-Zero Framework has been formally adopted, and the Hong Kong Convention has officially entered into force, steering the global ship recycling market towards regulatory compliance and sustainable development. And with new vessel orders on the rise, the industry faces critical decisions about what to do with aging vessels. In this context, this session will focus on shipping finance and investment, such as asset management, green ship recycling and fleet renewal, etc.
