美国移民申请已经通过的朋友们，您有两种方式来最终获得绿卡。第一是获取移民签证，即到广领馆进行移民类签证面谈并获得签证，在到达美国后即刻获得绿卡；第二便是境内身份调整，也就是本篇的主角，递交I-485表格，在美国境内实现绿卡身份的转换。

I-485的常见申请流程：
在确认自己具备申请资格后，就可以准备1-485申请包裹了；
递交1-485申请包裹后，会收到移民局的打指模通知，即生物识别采集(Biometrics colection)，申请人需要按指定时间、前往指定的移民局地方办公室进行指纹采集、拍照、签名流程，这些数据将会用于官方进行犯罪背最调查:
如果在申请1-485时还同时提交了1765工卡申请、1-131回美证申请那大概率会在几个月之后、1-485获批之前，先收到这两份申请的combo卡;
部分申请可能会收到要求去移民局地方办公室参加面试的通知；
等待1-485的申请结果，如果1-485顺利获批，坐等收绿卡。

Documentation ofimmigrant category, such as a copy of Form 1-797, Approval or Receipt Notice, for the immigrant petition (unless you are filing your Form 1-485 with the petition, such as Form 1-140);
Evidence you continually maintained a lawful status since arriving in the United States (or that you areexempt under 245(k) from the lNA 245(c)(2), (7) and (8) bars);
Confirmation of job offer (on Form l-485 Supplement J, if applicable);
A signed statement confirming you intend to work in the occupational field specified in the Form -140 iyou are a self-petitioner;
Form 1-864, Affidavit of Support (if required);
Certified police and court records of all criminal charges, arrests, or convictions regardless of final disposition (if applicable)
Form 1-601, Waiver ofInadmissibility (if applicable);
Form 1-212, Application for Permission to Reapply for Admission into the United States After Deportation Removal (if applicable);
Documentation regarding J-1 and J-2 exchange visitor status (Form 1-612, if applicable)
