绿洲报专访沙迦地平线大学（Skyline University）第14届年度校友会
本报讯 2014年5月27日晚8点，沙迦地平线大学第14届年度校友会在迪拜香格里拉酒店隆重举行。本次校友会标志着地平线大学校友的团聚，同时企业专业人士及政要的出席为校友们提供了交流平台。本次活动为地平线大学的校友们提供了终生学习的机会，因此具有里程碑的意义。本次跨国校友会的主题是“2020世博会：一个年轻国家的视角”。
地平线大学校友会汇集了近24年来毕业的近300位校友、大使馆的政要、企业的CEO，政府部门官员以及管理领域的激励演说家。
晚会在地平线大学创始人 Mr. Kamal Puri的正式欢迎词中拉开了帷幕。紧接着，阿布扎比身份证管理局局长Dr. Ali Mohammed Al Khouri进行了精彩的演讲。他通过身份证管理及手机技术的对比分析，从他所属部门未来发展的角度阐述了他对迪拜2020年世博会的看法。他认为应该将ID卡与私人手机结合起来，如果身份证的伪造及偷盗行为引起足够重视的话，阿联酋将更加稳固。
随后，迪拜伊斯兰银行CEO，Dr. Adnan Chilwan从一个银行的角度，从过去、现在、将来三方面的阐述了世博会对他自身的影响。他通过援引一些真实故事调动了晚会现场的气氛，激起了听众的热情。
接着，Dr. Pawan Agrawal用他精心准备的演讲激发了所有听众的思想，他主要从物流及运输的角度阐述了自己的观点，博得观众们阵阵的掌声。
在晚会临近尾声时，地平线大学CEO，Mr. Nitin Anand邀请校友参加将于2015年1月开始的为期整整一年的25周年庆典活动。地平线大学院长提出各校友间相互交流、分享宝贵的经验。

Skyline University is proud to organize its 14th annual Alumni meet at Shangri-La Hotel. This occasion marks the reunion of our alumni and also provides networking opportunity for them with corporate professionals and dignitaries present during the occasion. This event is also a landmark event for Skyline because through this event we provide lifelong learning opportunity to our stakeholders. The theme of this multinational alumni event was “EXPO 2020: From a Young Nation’s Perspective”
Skyline Alumni were in attendance inclusive of speakers representing both the corporate world and government bodies. This evening we have an august gathering of 300 alumni who have graduated in the last 24 years, dignitaries from embassies, corporate CEO’s, officials from Government departments and motivating speakers from the field of Management.
The event began with the formal welcoming Speech by the Founder President of Skyline University, Mr. Kamal Puri. Then it was followed by the inaugural speech by the Chief Guest for this Alumni business meet his Excellency Prof. Dr. Ali Mohammed Al Khouri, the Director General of the Emirates Identity Authority, Abu Dhabi who addressed the gathering with his inspiring and motivational speech on the theme. His speech was informative to the audience notating the vision from his department’s future within identity authorization via mobile phone technology, therefore having the combination of an Emirates ID Card associated with a person’s mobile. His Excellency Dr Ali widened his outlook by stating that the UAE was impregnable where identification falsification or theft was concerned.
In addition, notable speakers who had presided was the CEO of Dubai Islamic Bank, Dr. Adnan Chilwan who presented his interpretation of what EXPO has meant to him in past, present and future. This was very much a Banker’s prospective had enthused the audience with his anecdotes which were commensurate with the theme of the evening and its proceedings.
Dr. Pawan Agrawal of Dabbawalas of Mumbai, was originally cited on BBC’s “Top Gear” series and played a key part of this television episode which had included a race from Mumbai to Delhi, however in this case, this race was between Dr. Pawan’s Mumbai meal delivery staff verses the BBC Top Gear presenters whereby the cars were racing the train. This speaker’s charismatic approach to student motivation was evident in his delivery to the audience at the Shangri-La Hotel in Dubai last night and was well received.Dr. Agarwal a scholar of Dabbawalas of Mumbai had also inspired the thoughts of the audience with his elaborate speech on the philosophy and operational nuances of the Dabbawalas and a capability of outsmarting six- sigma without the intervention of any technology.
Concluding the event the CEO of SUC Mr. Nitin Anand invited the Alumni for the yearlong silver jubilee celebrations that would begin January 2015. Dr. Amitabh the Dean of Skyline College proposed the vote of thanks and solicited interactive sessions with the alumni to enrich academics at SUC by the sharing of valuable experience and the best practices of the industry. Dignitaries of the EXPO 2020 Bid Committee had also been present at this Gala Event.
All the speeches were followed by a round of question answer sessions and the best questions were selected for awards.
