机翼上的图书馆“起飞”
KWB和阿拉伯航空公司联合为乘客提供飞机舱内图书
KWB和阿拉伯航空公司合作发起了一项新的旨在鼓励飞机乘客开始读书的提案。
机上图书馆为阿拉伯航空的旅客们提供可供阅读的书籍，该提案是在沙迦博览中心开展的一直持续到周六的“2015年沙迦儿童阅读节”上发布的。
机上图书馆将由一辆类似于餐车的小型货车组成。每一辆小货车将装有大约 40多本每本至多200页的图书，这样一来乘客们就有足够的时间在一趟旅行中读完一本书。
星期五，这项提案也将适用于一些选定的航线，比如说往返于开罗、安曼、贝鲁特和喀土穆的航班。
书籍也将涵盖各种各样的主题，包括健康、文学、经济、环境、遗产和一些其他的类别。书单也将涵沙迦酋长，高级委员会成员，尊敬的Shaikh Sultan Bin Mohammad Al Qasimi阁下、博士的出版书籍。书籍的名录也将会提供给乘客以便他们向机组成员索要合适的书籍。
KWB的总经理Rashid Al Kous说道：“书籍对所有年龄和来自不同文化背景的旅客来说都是最好的旅途伴侣。”这项提案与尊敬的Shaikh Sultan Bin Mohammad Al Qasimi阁下、博士的愿景是一致的，他鼓励每一份将文化传播到更广阔社区的努力。

Knowledge Without Borders and Air Arabia offer passengers in-flight books
A new initiative aimed at encouraging airline passengers to take up reading has been launched by Knowledge Without Borders (KWB) in collaboration with Air Arabia.
The On-board Library offers books to read on Air Arabia flights and was launched at Sharjah Children’s Reading Festival 2015 taking place at Sharjah Expo Centre until Saturday.
The library will comprise a cart, similar to the catering cart, on the plane. Each cart will carry around 40 books of a maximum of 200 pages each, so passengers can have enough time to finish the book in one trip.
The initiative will be launched on Friday on selected trips, such as those going to and from Cairo, Amman, Beirut and Khartoum.
Books will cover various topics including health, literature, the economy, the environment, heritage, and others. The list will also include a selection of publications of His Highness Dr Shaikh Sultan Bin Mohammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah. An index of titles will be offered to passengers to select the books and request them from the cabin crew.
Rashid Al Kous, General Manager, KWB, said: “Books are the best travel companion for all age groups and cultures. The initiative … is in line with the vision of His Highness Dr Shaikh Sultan Bin Mohammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, who has always encouraged every effort to spread culture to the wider community.”
Adel Ali, Group CEO, Air Arabia, added: “Air Arabia has built an outstanding on-board offering, and this partnership adds an additional layer that passengers on selected flights are now able to enjoy with access to the industry’s first on-board book library.”
