驾校理论课程或将采用在线学习方式
道路交通局调查实施驾校理论知识在线讲堂的可能性

迪拜：作为Smart City提案的一部分，迪拜道路交通局正在调查实施驾校理论知识在线讲堂的可能性。
道路交通局执照管理处驾驶员训练和质量部门的主任Arif Al Malik说道：“我们正在考虑是否要实施驾校理论课程在线授课。相关调查已经着手开始进行了，如果一切顺利，我们很快就会实施此方案。提出这个想法的目的是简化人们的生活，尽量提供智能的解决方案。”
如果实施此方案，虽然传统的学习方式也会继续保存，电子学习系统却可以省去学员亲自到驾校学习理论课程的麻烦。
Al Malik说道：“学员可以用他注册的详细信息进行登录，然后可以选择在自己舒适的办公室中或是家里或是任何学员觉得自由的地方学习8节理论课程。”
他还说道，该电子学习的观念与在线远程教育项目类似，远程教育项目最近非常受欢迎。
他补充道：课程学习是互动式的，学员和训练人员还会通过在线视频链接进行相关的讨论。
官方称：道路交通局将会确保每一位选择电子课程的驾照申请者都能参加到理论课程的学习，还能确保其能够通过人脸识别相机和眼部扫描仪进行身份确认。
第一阶段，电子项目将向申请小型汽车驾照的学员开放，在调查显示该项目方案可行之后才会开放其他类别驾照的电子课程。
Al Malik说道：“该项目目前还处于研究阶段，道路交通局目前正在与供应商进行沟通，协商提供实施电子课程的可行平台的事宜。我们收到了许多供应商发来的提案，我们正在对这些提案进行研究，找到最适合于我们项目的。作为调查的第一步，我们制作了道路交通局理论测试移动手机应用。”
然而，他还说道，虽然理论课程可能很快就会上线了，但网上理论考试可能还不会在短期内应用。

Dubai: As part of the Smart City initiative, Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) is studying the possibility of conducting the eight mandatory lectures at driving schools online.
“We are looking at the option of e-learning for the lectures. Studies are being conducted now and, if everything works out, we may have it soon. The idea is to make life easier for people and offer as many smart solutions as possible,” said Arif Al Malik, Director of Drivers Training and Qualification at RTA’s Licensing Agency.
If implemented, the e-learning system will save candidates the hassle of attending lectures at driving schools in person, though the traditional classes will continue to be in place.
“The candidate will simply log in using his registration details and attend the eight lectures from the comfort of his office or home or wherever he is and whenever he is free,” Al Malik said.
The e-learning concept is similar to online distance education programmes, which are very popular these days, he said.
The sessions will be interactive and there will be continuous discussion between the trainee and the trainer through live video link, he added.
The RTA will make sure that each and every candidate who opts for e-learning attends the lectures and will ensure his identity through face detection cameras and eye scanners, the official said.
The e-learning programme is proposed to be launched with applicants for light vehicle licences in the first phase and will cover other categories only after the experiment proves successful.
“The programme is currently under study and RTA is currently in talks with vendors to provide a viable platform for the implementation of e-learning. We have received proposals from a number of vendors and we are working on these to make them suitable to our requirments. As a first step towards this, we have made practice version of theory test available on the RTA mobile app,” Al Malik said.
However, he added that though the theory classes are likely to be offered online soon, the theory test may not go online anytime soon.
