迪拜：家庭拜访曾经是开斋节期间对家人和朋友最常见的问候方式，尽管这古老的传统仍然被保存，但方便的在社交媒体上发送祝福消息的方式也在逐步发展。
今天，通过对WhatsApp的群体会话发送问候消息，一个人可以一次性与十多个家人和朋友进行交流。
来自巴基斯坦的法拉·萨米尔，在迪拜媒体机构工作，她说她将对其Facebook上的朋友们发送问候短信，并且通过Whatapps对其最亲近的朋友编辑更为个性化的问候短信。
“我将给我祖母和叔叔打电话。这是一个我在开斋节喜欢遵循传统。”虽然她喜欢发送问候短信的日子更为个性化，但法拉认为社交媒体是一个更容易和更快的选择。
另一位迪拜居民来自埃及的29岁的亚西尔·易卜拉欣表示，他将使用WhatsApp通过其通讯录对其朋友和远方的家人发送问候的图像消息。他说：“不管社交媒体是如何受欢迎和方便，我一定会打电话给我的家里人，尽管这很老套，但这代表着尊重。”

Dubai: Home visits used to be the most common way of greeting family and friends during the Eid holidays and even though this age-old tradition still holds, the convenience of sending a message on social media is slowly gaining ground.
Today, by sending an Eid greeting to a WhatsApp group conversation, a person can communicate their wishes to dozens of their family and friends in one go.
Farah Samir, from Palestine, who works for a media agency in Dubai, said she will be sending a general Eid greeting to all her Facebook friends through her status and a more personalised message to her closest friends on WhatsApp.
“I will call my grandmother and uncles by phone. It’s an Eid tradition I like to follow.” Though she prefers the days where sending a greeting was more personalised, Farah believes social media is an easier and quicker option.
Another Dubai resident Yasser Ebrahim, 29, from Egypt, said he will be using WhatsApp to send a greetings image with a message to friends and distant family members on his contact list. “I will definitely call my immediate family and in-laws as it’s the norm, regardless of how popular and convenient social media is. It’s a matter of respect,” he said.
