After the great success of previous two China Flooring Entrepreneur Summits in 2014 and 2015, China Timber & Wood Products Distribution Association and Huzhou Municipal People’s Government upgraded this domestic conference to the 1st China Wood Flooring Conference in 2016, which created a great exchange and cooperation platform for global wood flooring industry last year. This year, the Global Wood Flooring Conference 2017 is going be held in Huzhou, Zhejiang Province on November 1, 2017.
According to China Timber and Wood Products Distribution Association, there are more than 2,800 enterprises with 700,000 employees in China's wood flooring industry. In 2016, the total production of China’s wood flooring was 600 million ㎡, the annual output value was 100 billion CNY and the domestic sales was 396 million ㎡.
Influenced by China’s macro-control, supply-side restructuring and other factors, the demand in the flooring industry will basically be stable and rising in 2017. The high-end flooring market will be promising. Prices of imported flooring brands will be increasingly transparent in Chinese market. Now the penetration rate of wood flooring in houses is about 25% in China’s large cities, and around 10% in medium-sized cities. By 2020, the penetration rate of wood flooring will hit about 30-35% in large cities, and go beyond 15% in small- and medium-sized cities in China. China’s wood flooring industry is predicted to grow in 2016-2021, and reap a sales income of nearly 130 billion yuan by 2021. On the other hand, it is predicted that the wood flooring industry will facing a more and more comprehensive circumstance. International trade friction is becoming aggravating, and domestic economic growth is slowing down. The real estate situation is not optimistic as expectation, and a new round of environmental inspection and implementation of safety supervision management policies, the natural forest commercial logging ban and the rising price of raw materials will no doubt exert a far-reaching impact on the industry development.
The huge consumption potential of China is not only a tremendous momentum for its economic transformation, but also will powerfully drive the world economy.
Opportunities and challenges are coexisting. International exchange and trade will be promoted through “bringing in” the wood flooring products and making them “go out”. This will be a vital addition to driving the development of wood flooring industry.
