We are a reputable international high school in Kunming, Yunnan, dedicated to academic excellence and holistic student development. Our curriculum prepares students for global higher education, with a strong emphasis on advanced English proficiency, academic writing, and literary appreciation. We are looking for an educator who is passionate about teaching upper-level English writing and literature, and who can inspire students to think critically, write confidently, and love reading.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach Academic Writing, Creative Writing, and Advanced English Literature to Grade 11–12 students.
- Strengthen students’ abilities in analytical essays, research writing, literary analysis, rhetorical skills, and creative expression.
- Develop students’ appreciation for literature and guide them to engage deeply with texts across genres and periods.
- Design engaging lessons that build strong writing habits, support structured thinking, and encourage independent voice.
- Provide timely, detailed feedback on essays, portfolios, and creative pieces to support continuous improvement.
- Support students applying to English-speaking universities by strengthening academic writing fundamentals.
- Integrate modern pedagogy, writing workshops, peer review, and differentiated instruction into classroom practice.
- Maintain a positive, supportive classroom environment that fosters intellectual curiosity and a love of reading.
- Collaborate with English department colleagues on curriculum development, literacy events, and writing competitions.
- Participate in staff meetings, parent-teacher conferences, and ongoing professional development.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in English, Literature, Creative Writing, Education, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
- TESOL/TEFL certification preferred.
- Minimum 2 years of teaching experience in English writing or literature at the high school or college level.
- Native-level English proficiency with strong writing and communication skills.
- Ability to teach academic writing structure, literary analysis, essay development, and creative writing techniques.
- Demonstrated passion for helping students grow as readers and writers.
- Commitment to collaboration, professionalism, and multicultural education.
- Legally eligible to work in China.
Compensation & Benefits
- Monthly salary: 20,000–28,000 RMB (pre-tax)
- Paid Chinese public holidays
- Winter holiday (3–4 weeks): 80% salary
- Summer holiday (4–6 weeks): 80%–100% salary (based on renewal or performance)
- Free apartment or housing allowance
- Medical and accident insurance
- Flight allowance: 10,000 RMB upon contract completion
- Working hours: Monday–Friday, 15–20 classes/week (40 minutes per class)
- Class size: 25–30 students
