Cabin Crew Base Specialist

Location: 上海


Role Introduction:


To actively support the management of local based cabin crew in addition to conducting operational functions such as scheduling and pre-flight planning, personnel related administration for the base and ensuring clear communication with cabin crew and other departments.  


Key Responsibilities:


1、 Relationship Management and Communication

1) Manage and take a proactive role in strengthening the bonds between local based cabin crew.

2) Build and maintain strong working relationships with the local based cabin crew community and office teams.

3) Be a source of support and guidance for local cabin crew to enable them to adapt to the changing business and operational environment.

4) Liaise with Airports and other departments as necessary.

5) To communicate with line manager and Employee Relations & Bases (ER&B) any changes of policies and procedures in accordance with legislative changes.


2、 Performance Management

1) Help enhance the performance standard of local based cabin crew through positive reinforcement and recognition to drive a high-performing culture.

2) Provide regular feedback, counselling and support to local based cabin crew for performance management.

3) Monitor local based cabin crew attendance.

4) Conduct first stage investigations for passenger complaints, punctuality, uniform and grooming infractions and grievances and disciplinary meetings with line manager.

5) Counsel and coach local based cabin crew and resolve crew-to-crew issues.

6) Monitor local based cabin crew performance records, provide coaching as necessary to ensure communication of high/low scores.

7) Help to administer the local recognition programme.


3、 Roster Preparation

1) Gather and send all relevant information for roster preparation to Crew Resources  

2) Liaise with Crew Resources and Crew Operations for roster changes

3) Handle last minute swaps, special requests and other last-minute requirements.


4、 Administration and Workforce Planning

1) Ensure the integrity of Cathay Pacific cabin safety and security policies and procedures are maintained at all times.

2) Monitor the day to day operation and oversee local base office administration.

3) Ensure crew report and depart on time and liaise with ground employee in regard to any disruptions to flight schedules.

4) Interact with crew, issue notices via email or bulletin board with regards to inflight services, crew administration and base specific information.

5) Receive sick call-ins and make roster adjustments as required.

6) Collaborate with GBS and Crew Rostering team on the subsequent roster arrangements for resignation cases and support the process for all cabin crew leave requests.

7) Maintain the content of the persona internal website for Chinese Mainland base.

8) Support with any other reasonable ad hoc tasks as required.


5、 Recruitment, Selection and Promotion

1) Prepare recruitment materials as required.

2) Compile data file for enhanced merit-based promotions.

3) Participate in recruitment, selection and promotion activities as required.

4) Liaise with external service providers on recruitment processes.

5) Liaise with relevant authorities on crew list registration and other visa application.


6、 Preflight Briefing

Ensure preflight briefing is conducted and crew are up to standard before operating. The activities include checking crew passed the computerized safety questions, safety/service notices, service flow, checking of travel and other documents and grooming checks.


7、 E&A

Emergency and Accident and Crisis Response responsibilities as required.


Qualifications / Experience:


1、 Academic Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in any discipline 

2、Knowledge, Skills, Training and Experience

1) At least 3 years' relevant work experience in the airline industry. 

2) Good computer literacy e.g. Excel, PowerPoint, MS Word. 

3) Good communication and interpersonal skills with excellent command of written and spoken English and Putonghua
