GARIBALDI PLOP是由意大利钢琴家Roberto Negro所创立的爵士弦乐团，由Roberto Nergo担任钢琴演奏和编曲部分，由Valentin Ceccaldi担任大提琴手，Sylvain Darrifourcq担任鼓手。同时，“GARIBALDI PLOP”也是他们合作的第一张唱片的名称。

The GARIBALDI PLOP is a jazz orchestra founded by Roberto Negro. It’s played by Roberto Nergo as a piano part and composition, and Valentin Ceccaldi as a cellist, and Sylvain Darrifourcq as the drummer. At the same time, "GARIBALDI PLOP" is the name of their first album released in 2017.

Roberto Negro出生在都灵，父母是意大利人，他在说着法语的扎伊尔首都金沙萨长大，这也给了他第一次的音乐体验。通过大量的跨界合作，Roberto曾涉猎戏剧、诗歌和戏剧作曲。2011年，他还参与创办了音乐家协会项目“TRICOLLECTIF”，这也成为他创作的主要重心。

Although born in Torino to Italian parents, Roberto Negro grew up in French- speaking Kinshasa, in Zaire, which gave him his first musical experiences. Through a multitude of inter-disciplinary collaborations, Roberto has flirted with theatre, poetry and theatrical song . In 2011, he also participated in creating the musicians’ association project “TRICOLLECTIF”, which became the main focus for his creations.

Always on the look out for new opportunities, refreshing experiences and idiomatic experiments. In addition to the Garibaldi Plop with Sylvain Darrifourcq, Valentin Ceccaldi. Roberto Negro is currently working on a number of projects. Since 2013 he collaborates as a composer, pianist and musical director with the theatrical company Les Veilleurs, leaded by Emilie Leroux. His versatile style allows him to play alongside vastly different musicians. In 2016, Roberto is one of the « young revelations » for the french review Jazz Magazine.

专辑《GARIBALDI PLOP》灵感来源于封面这张摄于1945年战后小山村中的照片。封面中照片是1945年三位年轻人Giorgio Negro，Nini de Savio 和 Pasqualigo Tito在皮埃蒙特的一个小村庄拍下的。他们当年二十岁，正在庆祝战争的结束。

Giorgio Negro, Nini de Savio and Pasqualigo Tito were photographed in 1945 in a little Piedmont village. They were twenty years old, celebrating the end of the war.

One year earlier, they were three young members of the Resistance movement, who decided to separate themselves from the Garibaldi brigade to cross enemy lines alone, to eat some tasty soup, before anyone else, on the other side of the Alps. Hunger pushed them to take a huge risk. They made a vow to the Madonna: if they survived, twelve months later, they would commemorate their adventure with a pilgrimage to their birthplace in the Piedmont. This photograph was taken then, with the three young men preparing to uncork a seventh bottle of wine, the first six having gone mouldy. The memory of such times, when history takes a sudden turn and the world tips upside down... a time that the man on the left is one of the last to remember.

Powerful and mysterious, it is also the inspiration behind the piece composed by Roberto Negro. Urgent, evocative and tremendously powerful music, sometimes ferocious even, sparking with humour, long developments and sudden breaks. A piece that plays with contrasts, taking its audience from acrobatics to reverie.
