Embarking on his journey here with a prestigious first-class undergraduate scholarship, he has consistently pursued academic excellence. In the Department of Micro/Nano Electronics, he maintained a strong GPA of 3.68/4.0, ranking within the top 30% of his cohort. He performed with particular distinction in core courses such as "Analog Integrated Circuit Design" and "Mixed-Signal Integrated Circuit Design," and achieved perfect scores. This academic record not only reflects his intellectual resilience but also lays a solid foundation for his future endeavors in research.

In the 8th "Chipsea Cup" Integrated Circuit Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition, he and his team faced intense pressure as they competed alongside numerous graduate-level teams. Despite the challenge, they collaborated closely to tackle the entire design process—from system-level behavioral modeling to post-layout simulation verification. He and his team tackled the challenge of poor accuracy and PVT robustness in low-power temperature sensors. Mentored by their advisor, they integrated a Bandgap front-end with a charge-sharing Sigma-Delta IADC. Through hundreds of simulations and rigorous layout optimizations, they achieved a ~0.1°C temperature resolution, winning the Second Prize for the East China region at the Wuxi competition. The 100+ days and nights spent in the Microelectronics Building stand as a testament to Brian’s unwavering dedication to microelectronic design.

Building on the hands-on experience gained from competition, he took the initiative to contribute to the development of the lab manual for the EE503 course. He created detailed instructional materials to help his peers quickly get started with circuit simulation tools such as Cadence. His guidance enabled students to successfully construct and simulate gate-voltage bootstrapping circuits, effectively facilitating the transfer of both knowledge and practical skills.

As early as the summer before enrolling in university, he participated in a local sugar painting cultural experience during a trip to Guizhou. At the event, numerous visitors learned about this piece of intangible cultural heritage and were also given a hands-on opportunity to create their own designs. Using syrup, they drew various patterns, some delicate and others cute, and finally got to enjoy their own edible creations. This experience profoundly attracted his interest. Upon returning to Shanghai, as a member of the inaugural cohort of the Global Competence Training Camp, he remained actively engaged despite the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic, which limited face-to-face interaction. He contributed enthusiastically to online discussions and proposed a project titled “Sugar Painting Intangible Cultural Heritage Experience.” In this proposal, he reinterpreted the traditional craft into an interactive cultural symbol. With support from the International Student Services Center, he successfully organized an event that brought dozens of international students together to participate. For his leadership and innovation, he was honored with the title of “Outstanding Camp Member.”
Standing at the crossroads between undergraduate studies and the journey toward graduate research, he has always upheld the guiding principles of “Global Vision, Chinese Roots, Engineering Craftsmanship.” From being an international ambassador of intangible cultural heritage to a micro-scale creator in the field of integrated circuits, he has seamlessly transitioned between multiple roles. What remains constant is his deep understanding of the humanistic dimension of technology—an enduring mark left by Shanghai Jiao Tong University and a core quality he aspires to embody as an engineer.
