Truman is a very ordinary person, except for some strange experiences — the sudden disappearance of his first girlfriend, the sudden appearance of his drowning father. It was a great disappointment to him. He had tried to leave the place where he had lived for many years, but for a variety of reasons he was unable to travel.

As he opened the exit door and was about to leave the studio, Christopher (the producer of the "Truman Show") used a loudspeaker to tell Truman that he was the world's most popular show star and that the outside world was no more real than the artificial world, and that if he wanted to stay in the town, he would not have to face the fear of the real world. Truman remained unmoved, leaving a symbolic greeting, and resolutely crossed the exit of the sky setting into the real world.
The Truman Show stars Jim Carrey in his prime as the titular character, Truman, whose life is a complete lie. Truman lives in an artificial world with actors and extras in the "world's largest set," and his life is recorded and broadcast worldwide 24 hours a day. While the premise is ridiculous, there's actually a lot of substance here. Carrey shines in the lead role as he discovers the lies of his life. The cinematography is brilliant as the viewer always knows when the movie is being viewed through a TV camera by use of curved off edges around each corner. Philip Glass provides original scoring as well as famous piano works, and his music is very passionate with the mood of the film. The subtext of the movie, highlighting the absurdities of following a person's every meaningless move, is even more relevant in today's world than at the time of its release. For those who are a fan of Jim Carrey, this is a must-see. Depth of the movie aside, The Truman Show is a fun and heartfelt achievement.
