On behalf of the Andean Road Countries for Science and Technology and our collaborators, it is our great pleasure to invite you and your colleagues to celebrate International Science Culture Construction Day on August 25, 2025. This event honors the establishment of the International Decade of Sciences for Sustainable Development. It aims to unite voices across Latin America to advance science culture as a pillar of sustainable progress.
Event Focus
We will bring together policymakers, university leaders, museum directors, and innovative enterprises dedicated to fostering a science-culture-construction one that bridges the natural sciences, social sciences, and humanities to address pressing global challenges. Together, we will:
Deepen interdisciplinary collaboration across Latin America and the Caribbean, promoting dialogue between scientific research, cultural perspectives, and policy action.
Produce a landmark white paper that builds upon:
The Declaration on Science and Climate Literacy (2021)
The 2024 White Paper on Enhancing Science and Climate Literacy in Latin America & the Caribbean
…with a renewed focus on the intersection of scientific knowledge, cultural values, and societal decision-making.Catalyze initiatives that integrate:
Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through science-culture partnerships,
Green skills development and youth employment in the science-for-society economy,
Inclusive transitions grounded in both evidence and cultural relevance.
By connecting hard science with humanistic insights, we aim to shape policies and practices that are as culturally resonant as they are scientifically robust.
Why Your Presence Matters
Your expertise is vital to shaping a framework where science culture drives equitable development. The Andean Road Countries for Science and Technology initiative has actively promoted networks and actions resonating with the International Decade’s vision, reported widely, and we seek to amplify this impact through your insights.
