On November 29, Rhenus marked a significant milestone as its inaugural block train departed from Jinan, China, destined for Almaty, Kazakhstan. The Rhenus team from China and Kazakshstan came together to celebrate this momentous occasion.

The 'Jinan - Almaty' block train comprises 43 brand-new Rhenus own containers. Laden with a variety of goods including tires, auto parts, and household appliances such as refrigerators, the train commenced its journey from Jinan, China, passing through Alashankou and Dostek before reaching its final destination in Almaty, Kazakhstan. Rhenus block train offers a distinct advantage by eliminating the need for reorganization en route, thus saving time on railway shunting operations and significantly reducing transit time to 8-10 days. Compared to the standard 18-20 days required for ordinary single or group deliveries, Rhenus block train offers superior time efficiency.

“The initiative to launch the Jinan-Almaty Block Train was driven by the need to provide efficient and cost-effective transportation solutions for manufacturers in Shandong province looking to export to the Central Asia region. To get this train rolling, we actually made our own Rhenus containers at the Qingdao container factory. We aim to develop this initiative into a continuous project, seamlessly integrating with future terminal and warehouse investment plans in Central Asia, further solidifying our position as a leading logistics provider in the region.”
