新年前夕，尼泊尔家家户户都会进行全面大扫除，清扫每一个角落，掸去旧年的灰尘，以全新的面貌迎接新年。人们用彩色粉末、米粒等精心绘制 “rangoli” 图案装饰房屋，这些精美的图案或呈几何形状，或似灵动花鸟，象征着吉祥与对新一年美好生活的期许 。孩子们也参与其中，他们穿上崭新的衣裳，拿着长辈给的零花钱，欢快地穿梭在集市，挑选心仪的零食和玩具，为节日添上一抹纯真与活力。
On the eve of the New Year, every household in Nepal conducts a thorough cleaning, dusting off the old year and preparing to welcome the new year with a fresh start. People use colored powders, rice grains, etc. to carefully draw "rangoli" patterns to decorate their houses. These exquisite patterns, either in geometric shapes or resembling lively flowers and birds, symbolize good luck and the expectation of a better life in the new year. Children also join in. They put on new clothes and, with pocket money from their elders, happily shuttle through the bazaar, choosing their favorite snacks and toys, adding a touch of innocence and vitality to the festival.
