Chinese hurdler Wu Yanni took to social media on Saturday to reflect on her 2025 season, expressing both pride in her achievements and disappointment after finishing second in the women's 100m hurdles at China's 15th National Games.
In her post, Wu summarized a grueling yet rewarding year: "This year, 19 races — often leaving me too exhausted to speak." She highlighted significant breakthroughs, including reaching the semifinals at the World Indoor Championships and setting a national record.
"These moments made me believe that all the sweat was worth it," she wrote.
Yet, Wu did not hide her frustration, admitting she shed "tears of disappointment" after earning bronze at the Asian Championships and silver at the National Games. Still, she remains motivated, vowing to "give my all in the remaining five or six years of my career to make up for what's left unfinished."
She concluded with determination: "The road ahead is tough, but so what? Climbing higher is never impossible."
After the National Games final, an emotional Wu cried on the podium but affirmed that the loss would not affect her preparation for next year's Asian Games.
