Bureau Veritas has launched a new software tool, MARS NG, which will help designers and shipyards to quickly check the compliance of their container ships with the new IACS Unified Requirement (UR) S11A covering enhanced longitudinal strength. The new requirements become mandatory on July 1, 2016.
MARS NG allows yards to anticipate any need for reinforcements before that. The new software also provides the opportunity for users to make a quick and easy check of new yielding, buckling and ultimate strength criteria introduced in the same UR S11A.
MARS NG allows automatic transfer of data from previous MARS 2000 software.
